The need for quality education in the field of Cosmetic Medicine continues to be the driver for our 5th National Laser and Cosmetic Medicine Conference, to be held in Sydney on 12-13 September, and this year we again have an outstanding program. We are delighted to have secured Dr Mitchel Goldman as our keynote speaker, and to be able to give our delegates this opportunity to hear in person from such an outstanding presenter. Dr Goldman is a Clinical Professor in Medicine and Dermatology at the University of California, San Diego, and a recent recipient of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery's 21st Century Achievement Award. We are very grateful to Obagi Medical for supporting Dr Goldman's participation in the meeting.

The conference program offers a variety of modules, with a three day pre-conference introductory workshop for doctors who are new to the field, the two day conference and a concurrent accredited program on laser safety for nurses and other healthcare workers. The workshop and conference are accredited by the RACGP for CME.

A special event at this year's conference will be the inaugural convocation of Fellows of the new Australasian College of Aesthetic Medicine. The convocation will precede the celebration gala dinner at the Sheraton on the Park Hotel.
