Dear Colleagues, The 7th World Congress for NeuroRehabilitation will be a major event in Melbourne from 16-19 May 2012. The Congress will be held in conjunction with the 35th Annual Brain Impairment Congress for the Australian Society for the Study of Brain Impairment and the 20th ASM of the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (RACP). Over 1500 delegates are expected to attend. The Congress will be a forum for the presentation of international research, discovery and innovation in NeuroRehabilitation Medicine and provide a focal point for local, national and international discussion regarding the latest developments in all major sub groups with the field, including Traumatic Brain Injury, Multiple Sclerosis, Stroke, Parkinsons Disease, Post-Polio Syndrome and Neuro-Oncology The Scientific Program will run over three days with a pre-congress day of practical workshops .The program will have morning and early afternoon plenary sessions followed by themed sessions with invited speakers and selected free paper presentations. The invited presentations will focus on the theme of innovation and new directions in these areas. They will also cover updates in the understanding of the basic science of the condition and an evaluation of newer treatment options in the acute and rehabilitation settings which includes emerging techniques in the various therapy disciplines. The Scientific Committee also aims to focus on the measurement of long and short-term outcomes in the evaluation of effectiveness of acute and sub-acute management in key topic areas. Dear Colleagues, On behalf of the World Federation for NeuroRehabilitation (WFNR) and Professor John Olver, WFNR Regional Vice-President for Australia, New Zealand and Oceania, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 7th World Congress for NeuroRehabilitation (WCNR2012). This Congress is dedicated to innovations in NeuroRehabilitation and features lectures, symposia and workshops on the full spectrum of progress in the field, from advances in clinical practice to clinical and basic research, by leading experts from around the world. Our venue is the award-winning Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, located on the south bank of the Yarra River. A short stroll along the iconic Southbank Promenade will take you to the heart of Melbourne city. Melbourne is known as Australia’s culture, cuisine and events capital.
