A minute with Kristy Bunting

This week on 'A minute with', we meet DCC&A's ACAM & NSANZ Association Manager, Kristy Bunting.

Q. Tell us a little bit about your role at DCC&A

I have been with DCC&A for almost 8 and a half years and am involved in the association management side of the business.  I currently work with 2 clients in the healthcare industry. My role involves board management, membership management, marketing and communications and events. There is a lot of multi-tasking so it helps to be organised. It offers a lot of variety, so no day is ever the same.

Q. What attracted you to DCC&A?

I have always had an interest in the healthcare industry, with my mum being a nurse and a dad working as a medical sales representative.  My current role is a combination of my experience from over the years with qualifications in marketing and communications and working in various not-for-profit organisations.  I was attracted to working for a conferencing company also as my previous roles have always had an element of event management so I enjoy the buzzy environment.

Q. Working in the office or working from home – what’s been your preference and why? What do you see as the pros and cons?

Ideally, I would like a combination of both.  Working from home can provide more flexibility for a better work/life balance. However, I am a social person so miss the company and being able to easily change hats! My puppy has been a saviour, she gets me out of the house to take her for a walk!

Q. What are your interests you outside work?

Spending time with family – picnics by the beach and nice long bushwalks, socialising – long lunches with friend’s, live entertainment such as the theatre, concerts and shows (something I miss), being active – gym and sports and music and dancing!

Q. What’s your Friday afternoon song to get you excited for the weekend?

Well there are a few, depending on my mood: Sometimes I start with ‘Let it Go’ by James Bay, closely followed by ‘I Gotta Feeling’ by the Black Eyed Peas (love the ‘woohoo’ bit mostly!) and usually end with ‘Dancing On My Own’ by Callum Scott (which sadly seems to be the case of late).

Q. Winter or Summer?

Spring and Autumn are my picks! I don't like it to be too hot or too cold, just in between is best. These seasons symbolise change - without one, we wouldn’t appreciate the other! I love the flowers in Spring and the beautifully coloured leaves in Autumn.
