Lynn Price

Dr Lynn Price

Lynn Price is an Associate Professor in the School of Nursing at Quinnipiac University, where she also serves as Director of the Graduate Nursing Program.  She attained her Master’s degrees in Nursing and in Public Health at Yale University in 1998.  Dr Price is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner and as a Wound Care Clinician, with an active practice in a New Haven, CT Skilled Nursing Facility.  Dr Price worked for many years as a lawyer in civil law before becoming a nurse.

Mary Boyde

Dr Mary Boyde

Mary Boyde, Nurse Researcher and Educator at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane has recently completed her PhD at the University of Queensland. Her research was titled ‘Efficacy of a Self-Care Manual for People with Heart Failure’. 

Mary’s past experience in cardiovascular nursing and education has led to an interest in patient education.  Mary’s PhD research focused on developing a multimedia educational intervention for patients with heart failure.  An initial pilot study using these resources demonstrated improved knowledge and self-care abilities.  Further investigation of the effectiveness of these multi-media resources in a randomised controlled trial has commenced.  Over the last 5 years Mary’s PhD research has been published and presented at national and international conferences. 

Thomas Buckley

Dr Thomas Buckley

Dr Tom Buckley is coordinator of the Master of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) at Sydney Nursing School and Associate Professor in the Collaborative Research Network between the University of Sydney and Southern Cross University. Dr Buckley is a former member of the PBS Nurse Practitioner Technical Advisory Committee, current member of the National Prescribing Service Curriculum Education and Design Committee, Clinical Advisor on the Health Professionals Prescribing Pathway Project with Health Workforce Australia and deputy chair of the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC) Nurse Practitioner Committee. In addition to being an active researcher in both preventative cardiology and Nurse Practitioner prescribing practices, Dr Buckley is an investigator on the Nurse Practitioner Standards Revision Project (2012-2013).

Andrew Cashin

Professor Andrew Cashin

Andrew is Professor and Head of Nursing at Southern Cross University (SCU). He is a mental health Nurse Practitioner and conducts a clinic in the SCU Academic Health Centre at Lismore. Andrew is Adjunct Professor at University of Technology Sydney and Charles Darwin University, and he is a fellow of the Australian College of Nurse Practitioners, Australian College of Mental Health Nurses and the Australian College of Nursing. Andrew recently co-led the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia project to revise the Nurse Practitioner standards with Dr Tom Buckley.

Philip Darbyshire

Professor Philip Darbyshire

Professor Philip Darbyshire is internationally recognised as a leader in nursing and health care research and service development. For 13 years he led one of Australia’s most successful practice-based research departments at Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Adelaide, he is described by the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards as an “example of excellence in research leadership”.

Philip is also a Professor of Nursing at Monash University and Flinders University.
