On behalf of the Spine Society of Australia, it is my pleasure to invite you to attend the Society’s 28th Annual Scientific Meeting to be held in beautiful and historic Hobart from 7-9 April 2017.
The SSA is proud to promote the exchange of scientific knowledge and strengthen friendships amongst those who work in the complex and challenging field of spinal disorders. Under the guidance of the Society’s Scientific Secretary, Professor Brian Freeman, we look forward to an outstanding scientific program.
The 2017 meeting theme will be “Measuring outcomes and value in spinal surgery”. We are pleased to confirm that Dr Sigurd Berven has accepted the invitation to be one of the international speakers. Dr Berven is Professor in Residence, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco. Joining him will be Professor Joachim Wilke, the Co-Director of the Institute for Orthopaedic Research and Biomechanics at the University of Ulm and head of spine research, and Dr Charlie Branch Jr professor and chair of the department of neurological surgery at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Centre.
April is autumn in Hobart, Australia’s second oldest city. Set amongst the foothills of Mt Wellington, with its iconic waterfront and colonial, sandstone architecture, Hobart combines bygone charm with a modern lifestyle. Please join us in Hobart for outstanding spinal academic presentations and lively scientific debate, juxtaposed to a relaxing and most enjoyable social program.
